The Folded Ground by Vineris The Folded Ground by Vineris
Still messing around with oils a bit.  This is a re-painting of the scene in this old painting: vineris.deviantart.com/art/The…

I remember when I painted the first pic, we were out at Dry Island Buffalo Jump.  After a morning of painting up top we all drove to the bottom, and then several of us artists went wading in the river to cool down.  Afterwards I sat in my camp chair waiting for the evening barbecue to start and idly painted hill shapes.  It's December now and every time I look at these paintings I wish it was August and I was painting in the hills waiting for the burgers.

Very cool! I love the organic variation in color throughout the foliage and how you handled the application of paint. And I know exactly how you feel - it's only December but already I can't wait for summer.

Thanks!  It took me a while to figure out what exactly to do with the oil paints, it was so confusing at first.  Foliage is very forgiving though!
