Description

So I painted this thing.  And before you go "Vineris, what kind of paint fumes have you been huffing cause I want to try some", there's an explanation.  One of the art supply shops I frequent had this event where you bring in an unfinished painting, and you take someone else's painting home and finish it.  But I wasn't able to go on the day of the actual event, so by the time I got there several days later, there wasn't much choice left.

Now you had to keep 50% of the painting intact, and the landscapes that were there were... well, I'd have had to paint over 100% of them to be happy.  And then hiding in the very back were two large "unclaimed canvases" that were heavily-textured acrylic abstracts.  The nice lady said "you can cover up whatever, just leave some element of the original composition in."  She also said "maybe you can sand it" rather dubiously so I don't think they were expecting much.

So I took this grayish-purple abstract home and stared at it until eyeballs came out.  Ta-dah!  I wish I'd remembered to take a photo of the original but inspiration struck rather unexpectedly and yeah.  Eyeballs.  Also, feathers.

It's like the inside of an Eva unit staring at me.
