A Cloth Made of Thistles

The land a thick striped towel folded around a mirror.

My neighbours were having their roof shingled and it's right next door to my studio, so I wisely stepped out to paint.  Much less banging out in the field, unless you sit near a woodpecker.

I had to relocate a couple of times because the thistles I was sitting in were full of wasps.  I think there ought to be a law against wasps and thistles teaming up against you.  Otherwise this was a nice overcast fall day and I was very happy to get outside to paint again.
